GRAND FORKS, N.D. - It was a record-setting year for the University of North Dakota women's hockey team in 2011-12 and nearly three months after the conclusion the accolades continue to roll in.

UND was named the 2012 North Dakota women's college team of the year and junior Jocelyne Lamoureux has been named the female college athlete of the year by the North Dakota Associated Press Sportwriters and Sportsbroadcasters Association (NDAPSSA).

North Dakota went 22-12-3 last season and earned a program first NCAA Tournament bid where its season concluded in the quarterfinals to eventual national champion Minnesota. Its 22 wins set a new program record in a historic season that saw numerous team and individual records broken.

Lamoureux was a Patty Kazmaier Award finalist and led the nation in points (82), points per game (2.34) and assists (48), all of which broke the single-season school records. In Western Collegiate Hockey Association play, Lamoureux paced the league in points (64), goals (27) and assists (37). Along with winning the league's regular-season scoring trophy, Lamoureux was named to the All-WCHA First Team and won the league's Student-Athlete of the Year Award. She also garnered American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) All-American First Team honors, 2012 Capital One Academic All-American and was named UND's 2011-12 Grace Rhonemus Female Athlete of the Year.
