GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota women’s hockey team has added a two-game series against the Russian Women’s National Team, Nov. 29-30, and an exhibition against the Manitoba Maple Leafs, Dec. 21. All three games will begin at 2:07 p.m.

Preparing for the 2014 Winter Olympic Games, the Russian National Team will also play WCHA opponents Bemidji State, Nov. 27, and Minnesota Duluth, Nov. 26 and Dec. 2. Most recently, Team Russia took home bronze from the 2013 IIHF Women’s World Championship.

The Manitoba Maple Leafs is a newly formed college prep senior women’s team based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The game will be played the day following the international tilt between the United States and Canada at Ralph Engelstad Arena on Dec. 20.

North Dakota begins the season hosting an exhibition against Pursuit of Excellence Hockey Academy on Sept. 27 at 7 p.m. UND’s regular season begins the following weekend with a nonconference series at home against Lindenwood, Oct. 4-5, at 7:07 p.m.
