PREROV, Czech Republic -- After going scoreless in the first two games with Denmark, junior UND women's hockey forward Josefine Jakobsen tallied six points off of two goals and four assists in the last two games for Denmark at the 2014 IIHF Division I Group A Women's World Championship.

In Wednesday's game against Slovakia, Jakobsen recorded two assists in the first period to help Denmark to an early 4-0 lead. In addition to her two assists, she led all players in the game with eight shots on goal and was named Denmark's best player of the game.

On Thursday, Jakobsen followed up her performance with a four-point effort against Team France. After a penalty-filled first period, Jakobsen scored her first goal of the tournament just two minutes into the second period. Later in the third period, she scored Denmark's third goal before assisting on the final two. Jakobsen's second-period goal would prove to be the game-winner in the 5-1 win for Denmark.

Fellow UND junior Andrea Dalen is also competing at the tournament with Team Norway. After opening up competition with two wins on Sunday and Monday, Norway fell to the Czech Republic on Wednesday, 2-0, and dropped a 5-2 decision to Austria on Thursday.

Dalen led Norway with four shots in the 2-0 loss to the Czech Republic. She then provided the opening goal in the game against Austria, scoring her third goal of the tournament almost three minutes into the second period. However, with the scored tied 2-2 later in the game, Austria scored three-unanswered goals. She again led her squad in shots, taking eight shots on goal against Austria.

With the Czech Republic winning its first four games, it has clinched first place at the tournament, earning a bid to play Team Japan in a three-game series with the winner qualifying for the 2015 IIHF Women's World Championship in Sweden.

Competition at the tournament wraps up on Saturday, April 12, as Denmark takes on the Czech Republic and Norway facing France.
