GRAND FORKS, N.D. --- The University of North Dakota women's hockey team rallied from a third-period deficit Saturday to defeat No. 4 Clarkson 3-2 at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.

Senior Jocelyne Lamoureux (Grand Forks, N.D.) scored a pair of goals, including her 100th collegiate, and freshman Meghan Dufault (Winnipeg, Manitoba) added the eventual game-winner to lift UND to the series split.

Freshman Shelby Amsley-Benzie stopped 23 of 25 shots faced to pick up her second win of the season as UND improves to 5-5-0 (4-4-0 WCHA). Clarkson drops to 8-2-0.

Clarkson's Vanessa Plante opened the game's scoring in the opening stanza as wristed a shot from just inside the blue line past Amsley-Benzie who had traffic in front. The goal at 10:11 would be the lone score of the first frame.

Initially ruled a no goal, Lamoureux would score her 100th collegiate goal and her first of the game off a rebound. Senior Mary Loken (Roseau, Minn.) took a shot from just inside the near faceoff circle and Lamoureux crashing the net knocked the puck past Erica Howe and over the goal line. After the review, the goal would knod the game at one only 3:16 into the middle stanza.

Plante would regain the lead for the road team with a similar play as she place a shot through traffic and into the cage at 11:51 of the second period. The goals were her first and second of the season.

In a penalty-filled final period, UND cashed in for two power-play goals to take its first lead of the game.

Lamoureux blasted a one-timer from the near faceoff circle past Howe to tie the game just before the halfway mark of the third period.

After getting her stick knocked out of her hands, Dufault collected her twig behind the net, regrouped and spotted herself in the perfect spot just next to the crease to knock the puck out of mid-air and into the net for the game-winner.

Howe stopped 22 of 25 shots faced in the losing effort.

Senior Monique Lamoureux (Grand Forks, N.D.) was moved back to the blue line for the game and led the team with six shots.

North Dakota has next weekend off with players competing in the Four Nations Cup and will return to action Nov. 17-18 at Bemidji State in league play.
