GRAND FORKS, N.D. --- University of North Dakota's Jocelyne Lamoureux  (Grand Forks, N.D.) became the new Western Collegiate Hockey Association all-time scoring leader in a 7-0 rout over Bemidji State Saturday at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.

The record fell at 8:15 of the second period as Lamoureux made a picture-perfect pass to Layla Marvin (Warroad, Minn.) for a wide-open net to collect her third assist of the game. It was Marvin's first collegiate goal, maybe starting a bit of a locker room controversy as to who gets the game puck.

Lamoureux would finish the game with a career-high six assists, falling one short of the NCAA record held by Jennifer Botterill (Harvard) set on Nov. 8, 2002. Lamoureux assisted on all but one of UND's goals in the game.

North Dakota improves to 20-10-0 on the year and 15-9-0-0 in the WCHA and now within two wins of its all-time program record of 22 wins set last season.

On its second shot of the game, UND's Megan Gilbert (Andover, Minn.) received a nice pass from Jocelyne Lamoureux to send her in one-on-one with the goaltender and she buried past Abby Ryplanski's glove side only 1:47 into regulation.

Monique Lamoureux (Grand Forks, N.D.) quickly made it a 2-0 lead as a shot from the point went off a BSU defenseman and redirected into the net. She would finish the game with a team-high two goals and four points total.

Looking for the record in the first period, Jocelyne Lamoureux had a couple golden opportunities on two power-play attempts as she missed wide on a couple of chances and nearly got a couple assists.

North Dakota carried the 2-0 lead into the intermission but would have liked to have extended upon that lead further as it was a dominant period for the home team, outshooting the Beavers 14-2 and 32-4 in attempted shots. UND had five shots blocked and 13 that were off target.

Becca Kohler (St. Thomas, Ontario) cashed in on a 5-on-3 power play four UND's fourth goal of the game at the 9:30 mark of the second frame and Monique Lamoureux found the back of the net on the pursuing power play at 10:36 to blow the game open.

Jocelyne Lamoureux would pick up her fifth assist of the game at 15:45 of the second period when Meghan Dufault (Winnipeg, Manitoba) banged in a rebound for her first of the game and 14th of the season. The fifth assist set a new career best for helpers in a single game.

Junior Michelle Karvinen (Rodovre, Denmark) scored on a 2-on-1 rush for the lone goal of the third period. She finished with two points in the game and is now one shy of reaching the century mark in her second season.

Freshman Shelby Amsley-Benzie (Warroad, Minn.) quietly collected her third shutout of the season stopping all 21 shots faced. UND ended the game with a 33-21 advantage in shots.

North Dakota went 2-for-4 on the power play while holding BSU scoreless in six attempts.

North Dakota returns to the Ralph Engelstad Arena next weekend in the key WCHA series against Ohio State on Friday and Saturday. Saturday will serve as senior night as UND will honor its eight seniors after the conclusion of the game.
