GRAND FORKS, N.D. - North Dakota senior forward Danny Kristo, who enjoyed a 5-point weekend against Minnesota Duluth, has been named Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) Offensive Player of the Week, the league office announced today.

Kristo's production, which included three goals and two assists, helped North Dakota take three of four WCHA points from the Bulldogs. The Eden Prairie, Minn., native scored a pair of goals in Friday's 4-4 overtime tie, then added a goal and two assists in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win. He set up linemate Mark MacMillan (So., Penticton, British Columbia) for the game-tying goal in the third period and the game-winner with 34 seconds remaining in overtime.

Kristo produced nine shots on goal in the series, including a game-high seven in Friday's tie, and was a +2. He was named the game's No. 1 star on Friday and the No. 2 star on Saturday.

Kristo has reached the scoresheet in all but one of his eight games this season, and leads UND with 12 points (four goals, eight assists).

Denver sophomore defenseman Joey LaLeggia was named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week, while Michigan Tech freshman forward Jujhar Khaira earned rookie of the week honors.

UND (5-3-2, 3-1-1 WCHA) travels to Notre Dame this weekend for a non-conference series against the seventh-ranked Fighting Irish on Friday and Saturday.
