GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- University of North Dakota senior forward Danny Kristo has been named the Western Collegiate Hockey Association's (WCHA) co-Offensive Player of the Week for his performance in North Dakota's split last weekend at No. 10 Denver.

Kristo, who shared the award with Colorado College senior forward Rylan Schwartz, had four points and led the team with nine shots on goal in the series. The Eden Prairie, Minn., native, had a goal and an assist and was a +2 in Saturday's 6-1 win, Denver's worse home loss in five years. In Friday's 5-4 loss, Kristo scored a shorthanded goal and added an assist.

The 4-point weekend enabled Kristo to reach the 150-point plateau for his career and extended his career point total to 152, which leads all active NCAA Division I men's hockey players.

A candidate for postseason honors, Kristo has scored a goal in 14 of the last 17 games and has amassed 29 points during that stretch. His career-high 20 goals are tied for the WCHA lead and rank second nationally. He also ranks third nationally in goals per game (0.67) and points per game (1.43). During league play, Kristo is tied for both the league's point-scoring and goal-scoring lead with 35 and 16, respectively.

St. Cloud State sophomore defenseman Andrew Prochno was named WCHA Defensive Player of the Week, while SCSU freshman forward Jonny Brodzinski was the WCHA Rookie of the Week.

UND hosts Bemidji State this weekend in its final home series of the regular season. The puck drops at 7:37 p.m. Central on Friday and 7:07 p.m. Saturday.
