Seventh-ranked UND faces No. 14 Niagara in the NCAA West Region semifinal.
North Dakota ranked seventh in both national polls

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota will enter the 2013 NCAA postseason tournament ranked No. 7 in both the USCHO.com and USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine polls, which were released today.

UND (21-12-7), which slipped one spot in both polls, is the No. 2 seed in the NCAA West Regional and will face No. 3 seed Niagara on Friday in Grand Rapids, Mich. Niagara was ranked No. 14 in both polls. The winner of Friday’s semifinal advances to the regional championship on Saturday afternoon.

Quinnipiac grabbed the No. 1 ranking in the USCHO poll and shared the top spot with Minnesota in the USA Today poll.

Massachusetts-Lowell, Notre Dame and Miami rounded out the top five in both polls.

Friday’s regional semifinal between UND and Niagara is set for 4:30 p.m. Central and will air live on ESPNU.
