This Week
North Dakota returns to National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) play this weekend when it hosts old WCHA rival St. Cloud State.

It will be the first conference series of the year for the Huskies, while UND enters the weekend 1-1-0 in NCHC play.

The puck drops at 7:37 p.m. Central on Friday and 7:07 on Saturday.

Honoring Gino Gasparini
On Saturday night, fans are encouraged to arrive early and celebrate the accomplishments and legacy of John “Gino” Gasparini, the winningest coach in program history, prior to opening faceoff.

Gasparini’s hockey career at UND began as a player in 1965. He played through the 1967-68 season, serving as captain his senior season.

As head coach from 1978-94, he amassed a career overall record of 392-249-24 (.608), went 277-197-21 (.581) in the WCHA and led UND to national titles in 1980, 1982 and 1987. He was a 3-time WCHA Coach of the Year (1978-79, 1981-82, 1986-87) who also went on to serve as UND’s Director  of Athletics from October 1985 to June 1990.

In honor of Gasparini’s impact at the University of North Dakota and his lifetime of commitment to his players, several of his former student-athleteshave established a scholarship endowment in his name -- the Gino and Tootsie Gasparini Athletics Scholarship Endowment -- that will support UND men’s hockey student-athletes.
