GRAND FORKS, N.D. – After a six-week absence from the national polls, the University of North Dakota men’s hockey team was ranked No. 20 in the latest USCHO.com Division I men’s hockey poll released earlier today. UND received votes, but was not ranked, in today’s USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.

Prior to this week, the last time UND had appeared in either poll was Nov. 18 when it was 14th in the USA Today poll and 15th in the USCHO rankings.

UND is riding a nation’s-best 7-game winning streak after a National Collegiate Hockey Conference (NCHC) sweep of Colorado College last weekend in Grand Forks. UND won 5-3 on Friday and 3-2 on Saturday to claim a third consecutive series sweep.

Minnesota remained the top-ranked team in both polls, garnering 48 of 50 first-place votes in the USCHO poll and 33 of 34 in the USA Today rankings.

UND faces Bemidji State in a home-and-home series on Friday (Bemidji) and Saturday (Grand Forks), the final non-conference games of the regular season.
