This Week                        
Eleventh-ranked North Dakota takes to the road for an NCHC series at No. 20 Minnesota Duluth.

UND enters the week alone in second place in the NCHC standings, three points behind league-leading St. Cloud State and five in front of the Bulldogs, who are tied for fifth.

Media Coverage 
All UND men’s hockey games, home and away, can be heard on 96.1 FM (The Fox) and on stations across the UND Hockey Radio Network. Veteran broadcaster Tim Hennessy, in his 35th season as the voice of UND men’s hockey, calls the action while Steve Olson provides analysis.

Both games this weekend can be seen live on television with Tom Hansen and former UMD Bulldog Judd Medak calling the action.

Friday’s game will be telecast live on FOX Sports North PLUS, which is also available on DirecTV channels 652-1 (HD) and 652 (SD), as well as DISH Network channels 9515 (HD) and 445 (SD).

Saturday’s game can be seen live regionally on Midco Sports Network, which is picking up the My9 broadcast of the game.

About Minnesota Duluth    
The Bulldogs saw their 7-game unbeaten streak (4-0-3) come to an end last weekend when they were swept at St. Cloud State (5-3, 4-3).

UMD ranks fifth in the NCHC in both scoring offense (2.93 goals per game) and scoring defense (2.79). The Bulldogs boast the league’s second-best penalty killing team at 85.6 percent.

Junior forward Caleb Herbert leads the team in scoring with eight goals and 17 assists in 28 games. Three-time NCHC Rookie of the Week Alex Iafallo is tied for the team lead in goals (11) and is third in the NCHC rookie scoring race with 21 points.

UMD Coaching Staff    
Former UND All-America defenseman Scott Sandelin (UND ‘86) is in his 14th year as Minnesota Duluth head coach and owns a 244-240-67 (.504) career record.

Sandelin’s staff includes another former UND standout defenseman, Jason Herter (UND ‘05), as well as Derek Plante (UMD ‘09) and Bill Watson (UMD ‘90).

Series History    
UND holds a 137-76-9 (.637) advantage in the all-time series, including a 55-39-5 (.581) edge in Duluth.

The two teams split their series earlier this year in Grand Forks, with UND taking the opener 4-2 before falling 6-3 in the series finale.

Junior forward Mark MacMillan (Penticton, British Columbia) and senior defenseman Dillon Simpson (Edmonton, Alberta) lead all active UND skaters with five career points against the Bulldogs.

Senior goalie Clarke Saunders (Brockville, Ontario) boasts a lifetime .923 save percentage in five career starts against UMD but has won just one of those starts.
