About Minnesota Duluth
The Bulldogs saw their 7-game unbeaten streak (4-0-3) come to an end last weekend when they were swept at St. Cloud State (5-3, 4-3).

UMD ranks fifth in the NCHC in both scoring offense (2.93 goals per game) and scoring defense (2.79). The Bulldogs boast the league’s second-best penalty killing team at 85.6 percent.

Junior forward Caleb Herbert leads the team in scoring with eight goals and 17 assists in 28 games. Three-time NCHC Rookie of the Week Alex Iafallo is tied for the team lead in goals (11) and is third in the NCHC rookie scoring race with 21 points.

UMD Coaching Staff
Former UND All-America defenseman Scott Sandelin (UND ‘86) is in his 14th year as Minnesota Duluth head coach and owns a 244-240-67 (.504) career record.

Sandelin’s staff includes another former UND standout defenseman, Jason Herter (UND ‘05), as well as Derek Plante (UMD ‘09) and Bill Watson (UMD ‘90).

Series History
UND holds a 137-76-9 (.637) advantage in the all-time series, including a 55-39-5 (.581) edge in Duluth.

The two teams split their series earlier this year in Grand Forks, with UND taking the opener 4-2 before falling 6-3 in the series finale.

Junior forward Mark MacMillan (Penticton, British Columbia) and senior defenseman Dillon Simpson (Edmonton, Alberta) lead all active UND skaters with five career points against the Bulldogs.

Senior goalie Clarke Saunders (Brockville, Ontario) boasts a lifetime .923 save percentage in five career starts against UMD but has won just one of those starts.
