GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Seven University of North Dakota products will compete in the National Hockey League's 2014 Stanley Cup Playoffs, which begin tonight.

Matt Frattin (Columbis), Matt Greene (Los Angeles), Brad Malone (Colorado), T.J. Oshie (St. Louis), Zach Parise (Minnesota), Chris Porter (St. Louis) and Jonathan Toews (Chicago) all seek to become the latest UND products to hoist the Stanley Cup.

Tonight, Frattin's Columbus Blue Jackets face the Pittsburgh Penguins in the lone Eastern Conference series featuring a former UND player.

UND has six players competing in Western Conference series, with each getting underway on Thursday: Oshie, Porter and the St. Louis Blues face Toews' Chicago Blackhawks, Zach Parise and the Minnesota Wild square off against Brad Malone and the Colorado Avalance, and Matt Greene's Los Angeles Kings face the San Jose Sharks.

Ten different UND products have won the Stanley Cup 13 times, including Toews and the Blackhawks last season.
