GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- Senior defenseman Chay Genoway of the University of North Dakota men's hockey team was honored with the Male Sioux Service Award.
Genoway, a native of Morden, Manitoba, led all UND male student-athletes with 80 hours of community service. He organized the men's hockey team's ‘Movember' initiative that raised nearly $2,000 for men's cancer awareness, and also donated time to Altru Hospital, Grand Forks Public Library, Special Olympics, the University Children's Center, Grand Forks Youth Hockey, several area elementary schools, and many more.
Genoway was a first-team All-American and the WCHA Most Outstanding Student-Athlete.
