GRAND FORKS, N.D. – With an exhibition dress rehearsal in the books, the University of North Dakota will enter next weekend’s regular-season opener against Vermont ranked No. 7 in the latest USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine poll.

UND, which earned a 3-0 exhibition victory over the University of Manitoba on Sunday night, fell one spot from its No. 7 ranking in the preseason poll.

Massachusetts-Lowell received 13first-place votes and retained the top spot in this week’s poll. Miami received more first-place votes (16) but was ranked No. 2. Wisconsin, Boston College and Minnesota rounded out the top five, while defending NCAA champion Yale was ranked sixth.

UND will host unranked Vermont Friday and Saturday at Ralph Engelstad Arena in the Catamounts’ first-ever visit to Grand Forks.
