GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Running North Dakota’s only home meet of the season, junior Erin Wysocki made sure a Green and White runner would be the first to cross the finish line.

The Grand Forks, N.D., native clocked a time of 17 minutes, 41.7 seconds this afternoon to win the annual UND Ron Pynn Invitational 5K at Ray Richards Golf Course.

Wysocki defeated runner-up Maddie McClellan of North Dakota State by more than eight seconds.

North Dakota State defeated UND in the dual meet, placing the second-through-fifth-place finishers in the race.

Junior Jessica Lynch (Cologne, Minn.) was UND’s next-fastest performer after Wysocki, placing sixth with a time of 18:55.2. Classmate Jessica Lindsay (Grand Forks, N.D.) was right behind in seventh place at 18:56.3.
