2011-12 (Sophomore):
Great West Conference outdoor champion in the shot put with a personal-record
mark of 16.08 meters (52 feet, 9 1/4 inches) ... Was also the GWC outdoor
runner-up in the discus with a throw of 48.98 meters (160-8) and placed fifth
in the hammer throw (53.25 meters/174 feet, 8 inches) ... GWC indoor runner-up
in the shot put with a throw of 15.41 meters (50-6 ¾) ... Also placed sixth in
the weight throw at the GWC Indoor Championship with a mark of 15.04 meters
(49-4 ¼) ... Won the shot put at North Dakota State (outdoor) with a throw of
15.33 meters (50-3 ½) ... Was also the runner-up in the discus at NDSU at 48.50
meters (159-01) ... Broke the school record in the hammer throw twice in one
week in late April (later broken by teammate Jakob Bissell) ... Broke it the
second time at the Cobber Twilight (April 24) with a mark of 54.91 meters
(180-2) ... Originally broke it earlier in the week at the Long Beach State
Invitational (April 21) with a throw of 177-10, breaking standard that had
previously stood for seven years ... Won the shot put at the
Bison Classic (indoor) with a GWC-best mark of 15.89 meters (52-01 ¾) ... Won the discus at the Cobber Twilight
(49.15 meters/161 feet, 3 inches), the Bison Invite (49.60/162-9) and the
UNC-Wilmington Seahawk Invitational (48.33/158-7) ... Named to
Athletics Director's Fall Honor Roll ... Earned second letter.
2010-11 (Freshman):
Placed third in the discus (155-9 ¼), sixth in the shot put (48-8 ¼) and eighth
in the hammer throw (142-1) at the 2011 Great West Conference Outdoor
Championship ... Placed fourth in the shot put (49-7 ¼) at the GWC Indoor
Championship ... Won the discus at the UND-NDSU Dual (163-05), the South Dakota
State Twilight Meet (157-8) and the UND-SDSU-USD Double Dual (161-3) ... Earned
first letter.
Before UND: A
2010 graduate of Eveleth-Gilbert High School ... Lettered four times in track
and field and was a two-time state discus champion ... Also won a state
championship in the shot put ... Two-time Mesabi Daily News Track Athlete of
the Year ... An all-conference running back and linebacker in football.
