GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- University of North Dakota student-athletes are spending their free time today and tomorrow thanking North Dakota Champions Club members in their annual 'Thank-a-Thon.'

More than 100 student-athletes from all sports are personally calling the approximately 2,300 Champions Club members to thank them for their tremendous support.

"I know our Champions Club members really appreciate this," said Mike Mannausau, UND Assistant AthleticsDirector/Champions Club Executive Director. "It's our chance for student-athletes to thank the members for their support, which they provide in many ways that makes it a special experience at UND."

This year's Thank-A-Thon began yesterday afternoon and runs through Saturday at the Gorecki Alumni Center.

UND Athletics and its student-athletes benefited from another record-year of generosity in 2012-13, receiving $2.43 million in cash gifts and commitments. It marked the Champions Club's seventh consecutive year of record giving.
