ABOUT BEMIDJI STATE: The Beavers enter the weekend with a 2-6-2 record (1-4-1-0 WCHA). The Beavers finished up their non-conference schedule by losing to and tying Maine last weekend. BSU lost the first game 4-3 despite leading 3-0 heading into the third period and posting 60 shots on goal. The Beavers and Black Bears skated to a 2-2 tie last Saturday, causing BSU to finish the season with a 1-2-1 non-conference ledger. BSU is currently 0-3-1 at home this season.

THE ALL-TIME SERIES: North Dakota is 24-18-3 against Bemidji State all-time with a 9-9-2 mark in Bemidji. UND went 5-1-0 against the Beavers in 2011-12 including sweeping them in the first round of the WCHA playoffs. UND is 8-2 in its last 10 meetings.

LAST ACTION: UND played to a series split with No. 4 Clarkson at the Ralph Engelstad Arena. North Dakota dropped the first game 3-1 before regrouping to win 3-2 in the finale.

Jocelyne Lamoureux opened the game's scoring on Friday and UND took a 1-0 lead in the first intermission, but Clarkson would score three unanswered goals including two in the third period to earn the win.

In Saturday's contest, CU's Vanessa Plante and Jocelyne Lamoureux traded the game's first four goals through the first 50 minutes of play. Freshman Meghan Dufault tallied the game-winner at the 11:36 mark of the third period.

FAMILIAR SURROUNDINGS: The UND women's hockey team went 5-4-1 last year in its first 10 games and afterwards finished the regular season with a 15-6-2 record. North Dakota will be looking for a similar stretch run this year after its 5-5-0 start to 2012-13.

FOUR NATIONS CUP: Jocelyne Lamoureux and Monique Lamoureux helped the United States win the gold medal at the 2012 Four Nations Cup in Finland. Jocelyne Lamoureux had one goal and four assists while Monique Lamoureux added one goal and three assists and was named her team's player of the game against Sweden.

ONE STEP CLOSER: Sophomore Josefine Jakobsen and Denmark went 3-0 in the Pre-Olympic Qualification Tournament held in Latvia. The Danes will now advance to the Final Olympic Qualification Group C Tournament in Poprad, Slovakia, held Feb. 7-10.

UND's Josefine Jakobsen, who competes for Denmark, will compete to advance to 2014 Olympics against collegiate teammates Jorid Dagfinrud and Andrea Dalen when they face off against Norway. Jakobsen and Dalen are also roommates in Grand Forks.

REMEMBER YOUR FIRST: UND freshman Meghan Dufault was held without a goal through her first seven games of the season, but the scoring drought came to an end in a way she will remember. The Winnipeg, Manitoba, native, scored both North Dakota goals against No. 1 Minnesota.

Freshmen Becca Kohler, Leah Jensen and Tanja Eisenschmid have also scored their first collegiate goals this season.

STARTING STRONG: North Dakota has scored the game's first goal in seven of its 10 contests.

A CLEAR STEP: North Dakota and Megan Gilbert were awarded the team's first penalty shot in the series-opener against St. Cloud State since Jan. 25, 2008.

FRONT LOADED: UND will open the season playing 12 of its first 16 games at the Ralph Engelstad Arena.
