GRAND FORKS, N.D.-- University of North Dakota head volleyball coach Ashley Hardee announced the addition of Candice Yager to his Fall 2013 class. The native of Albertville, Minn. joins a class that included a pair of hitters, Anna Pioske (Waconia, Minn.) and Kellie Schmit (Kindred, N.D.), who signed National Letters of Intent in the early signing period.

“Candice is an extraordinary athlete and we are thrilled about having her join our program next Fall," Hardee said. "She played for a great high school team and a great club so she also comes in with a lot of high level experience.”

Yager led the St. Michael-Albertville Knights to a 9-1 league mark and for the fourth straight year earned all-conference, all-conference academic and the MSHSL academic award. In addition, she received the "Player's Choice" award from her teammates and All-State Academic award, given to seniors in Minnesota.

A defensive specialist, Yager recorded over 1,000 digs for her career, including 446 in her final prep campaign (5 digs/set average).
