PHILADELPHIA - North Dakota's Jameer Jackson was one of 63 Football Champsion Subdivision players named to the publication's Freshman All-America team on Tuesday. Jackson joins four other wideouts on the squad that attributes its size of 63 to the number of scholarships available for FCS programs.

Jackson finished his redshirt freshman third among FCS rookies with 55 catches for 705 yards. His six touchdown receptions were also second among first-year players at his level.

Jackson is the second UND player to earn a spot on the CS Journal All-Freshman team that originated following the 2011 season. He joins sophomore cornerback Daryl Brown with that distinction.

The Brooklyn Park, Minn., native had a pair of 100-yard receiving games, including a season-high 124 yards in the victory over Montana. He had eight catches against the Griz.

His first 100-yard receiving game was a six-catch, two-touchdown performance for 105 yards against Northern Arizona on Oct. 13.

He had a season-high nine catches in a loss at Eastern Washington.  His 55 catches ranked ninth among Big Sky receivers and his six touchdown catches were tied for sixth in the league.
