FARGO, N.D. - Multiple personal records and top-five finishes were the story for the North Dakota men's track and field team today at North Dakota State's Bison Open.

Junior thrower Shawn Johnson boasted one of UND's top finishes of the day, finishing third in the shot put with a mark of 54 feet, 7 ½ inches (16.65 meters).

A trio of fellow throwers established personal records in the weight throw: Keaton Hanevold, Zachary Olson and Tate Messmer.

In the 5K, UND runners Ross Nelson (15:49.82) and Parker Wharram (15:57.50) placed third and fourth, respectively, in the 5K.

Romon Bridges placed fifth in the 400-meters with a time of 51.01 seconds, and Jimmy Evers placed sixth in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.55 seconds. That duo also combined with Matthew McCreary and John LeClerc for a fourth-place showing in the 4x400 relay.

In the pole vault, Tyler Colling and Matt Harris placed fifth and sixth, respectively. Colling cleared 15 feet, 6 ¼ inches (4.73 meters), while Harris reached 15 feet, ¼ inch (4.58 meters).
