SAUGET, Ill. -- A big inning helped stake Saint Louis to a 12-0 win over North Dakota in seven innings at GCS Ballpark Wednesday evening in non-conference action. The game started UND's Spring Break trip which will see the team play seven contests in nine days.

"We played a really good team and we spotted them nine in an inning so it took us completely out of the game," UND head coach Jeff Dodson said. "We've just got to work to keep getting better and we'll get after it in Omaha."

That nine-run frame for SLU blew open a scoreless game in the third inning. The Billikens sent 13 to the plate in that inning alone and they etched the nine runs on seven hits with help from a pair of UND errors.

SLU tacked-on two more in the fourth and another single run in the fifth to take the seven-inning affair. UND mustered just three hits, but one of those was an infield single by Kris Kwak to extend his hitting streak to 22 straight, dating back to last season.

Jacob Threlkeld added a bunt single and Taylor Petersen rapped a double to left center for the other North Dakota hits. Trent Egan (0-1) took the loss for UND, throwing 2.1 innig with seven hits and seven earned runs.

UND (5-3-1) heads to Omaha for a three-game series against Nebraska-Omaha. First pitch Friday is set for 1:00 p.m.
