GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The University of North Dakota women's hockey team earned a second trip back to Minneapolis next weekend for another chance to knock off undefeated and top-ranked Minnesota with this time coming in the NCAA Tournament.
The NCAA Selection Show announced today that UND will be the eighth seed and play top-seeded Minnesota at Ridder Arena on Saturday at 4 p.m.
The quarterfinals are held at the higher seeds institution and the winners advance to the Frozen Four which is also held at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis this season.
UND will be taking on the Gophers for the sixth time this season (0-5-0) with most recently coming in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association Final Face-Off championship game yesterday in a 2-0 defeat.
UND is currently 26-11-1 on the season.
