Grand Forks, N.D. – USA Hockey announced today the 25-player roster for the U.S. Women’s National Team that will train together and participate in various competitions in the build-up to the 2014 Olympic Winter Games in Sochi, Russia.

The announcement is the culmination of a seven-day selection camp that began on June 17 in Lake Placid and included 41 players. For a complete roster, which features 13 forwards, nine defensemen and three goaltenders, click here.

Grand Forks, N.D., natives, Jocelyne Lamoureux and Monique Lamoureux are two of 12 players that have previously represented the U.S. in the Olympic Winter Games. Both helped the U.S. to a silver medal in Vancouver in 2010.

Both Jocelyne and Monique are graduate students at UND pursuing their master’s degrees in kinesiology, having already earned bachelor’s degrees in physical education, exercise science and wellness.

The Lamoureuxs concluded their careers at UND this past spring, leading the squad to back-to-back National Tournament appearances.

The U.S. Women's National Team will enter a residency program in early September and will primarily train at The Edge Sports Center in Bedford, Mass.

The final 2014 U.S. Olympic Women's Ice Hockey Team, which will include 18 forwards/defensemen and three goaltenders, will be announced in late December.
