A native of Minneapolis, Minn., Baker came to UND in the fall of 1985. All three years on the swimming team, Baker led the team to consecutive North Central Conference championships. In 1986 she was named the NCC Swimmer of the Year and was a four-time champion in the 500 freestyle, the 1650 free, 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley.
