YANKTON, S.D. -- For the third time during the outdoor season, the school record in the hammer throw has fallen.

After senior Christine Weinreich twice broke the mark earlier this spring, today it was junior Megan Storstad who took her turn at the history book. The Grand Forks native logged a throw of 166 feet, 6 inches, today at the USD/SDSU double dual, toppling Weinreich's previous standard of 165 feet, 10 inches.

Storstad's record throw was one of five personal records established by UND throwers today, on a day when the winds gusted from 20-30 miles per hour throughout the day.

UND also boasted several notable performances on the track.

Senior Lindsay Anderson (Leeds, N.D.) won the 1,500-meters with a time of 4:42.22.

Senior Emily Emerson (Lino Lakes, Minn.) was the runner-up in the 800-meters, clocking a time of 2:15.71, less than one second off of the lead.

Junior Kirsten Haas nabbed a pair of top-3 finishes in the hurdles. The Belgrade, Mont., native was the runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:02.61 that was just shy of her personal record. She also took third in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 14.60 seconds.

The Sioux will be back in action on April 14 at the Bison Classic in Fargo, N.D.
