GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Last Friday, the North Dakota track and field team opened the indoor season at South Dakota State. Tomorrow, the Fighting Hawks will get to try out some home cooking before the fall semester comes to a close.

UND will host the second annual Green & Black Intersquad Meet at the UND Athletics High Performance Center. The event, which is free to the public, gets underway at 1 p.m. and will feature mixed-gender teams competing against each other under the watch of UND assistant coaches Drew Jones and Joe Silvers.

A True Team scoring system will be used and the total number of scoring positions will equal the number of entrants in each event.

A third, non-scoring alumni team will also compete.

UND debuted the Green & Black Intersquad Meet last season after previously not hosting an indoor meet on campus since 1985.

The UND Athletics High Performance Center, located adjacent to Memorial Stadium, opened in Nov. 2015 and features a track surface, runways and approach areas of Mondo SuperX 720. The track is an 8-lane, 300-meter flat surface.

After Saturday’s intersquad meet, UND will be idle for the Christmas break and will return to action Jan. 13 at North Dakota State’s Bison Classic.
