Nearly 50 earn Big Sky Fall All-Academic honors

GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Forty-eight Fighting Hawks were named to the 2017 Big Sky Conference Fall All-Academic Team on Monday, which recognizes student-athletes in the sports of cross country, football, soccer and volleyball.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have met and/or exceeded the following minimum requirements: 1) Participated in at least half of the team’s competitions; 2) Achieved a 3.2 cumulative grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) at the conclusion of the most recently completed term; 3) Completed at least one academic term at his/her current Big Sky institution.

UND’s honorees included 18 in football, 13 in soccer, eight in women’s cross country, five in volleyball and four in men’s cross country. A total of 590 student-athletes were recognized across all Big Sky member institutions, the most in conference history.
