GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The University of North Dakota women’s tennis team dropped a Big Sky Conference dual to Eastern Washington, 6-1, on Friday evening.

The Eagles started out strong by sweeping UND in doubles play to clinch the first point.

In singles competition, Carmen Palumbo stood out by winning the No. 1 singles match 6-7 (5-7), 6-3, 10-4 to earn the Fighting Hawks lone point on the day.

Zahra Finnigan, who has been strong all season also took out, but unfortunately, lost the No. 5 singles match 5-7, 6-3, 11-9. Finnigan was up 9-7, but lost the last four points to give Faye Worrall the win.

The lady Fighting Hawks gets back into action against Seattle in Seattle, Wash on Friday, March 9 at 9:00am.
