GRAND FORKS, N.D.-- The University of North Dakota volleyball team registered just seven attack errors in an efficient 25-15, 25-12, 25-20 sweep of Eastern Washington in Big Sky Conference play at the Betty Engelstad Sioux Center Saturday morning. It extended UND's home winning streak to 17 straight matches with the home team claiming 32 straight set wins in that span.

"This was a good overall match for us. I like how our defenders played a much more controlled match overall," UND head coach Mark Pryor said. "It was nice to see that control from the defense really transition to our offense. We attacked the ball well, and we were much smarter with it than we have been as of late. That's a nice progression for us.

"And now we have over 50 hours off until we are back at it in the gym. The kids will feel like it's spring break. Well, maybe not spring break since we are in North Dakota, but I digress."

Senior Faith Dooley had nine kills without an error and added 10 total blocks in the win. Sydney Griffin recorded her seventh double-double of the season with 26 assists and 10 digs, part of four different Fighting Hawks with double-digit dig totals: Teodora Tepavac 15, Tamara Merseli 14, Alivia Fraase 11. UND’s seven attack errors tied a season low and marked the third time this season with single-digit attack error totals.

It was a tight affair early on with the score tied at 12 when North Dakota embarked on a 13-3 set-ending run to take the first frame, 25-15. UND's defense was stiff as it collected five blocks in that stanza alone, part of a dozen for the match.

In the second set, North Dakota ran off five quick points to force an Eastern Washington (5-8, 2-2 Big Sky) timeout. It did little to quell the growing momentum and the Fighting Hawks enjoyed an early 8-1 lead en route to a 25-12 set-two win.

EWU did not go quietly in the third, turning a 7-3 deficit into a 12-9 Eagle advantage midway through the set. Dooley then charted back-to-back kills followed by one of her 10 blocks to give North Dakota a 15-13 edge. UND was able to secure the 25-20 victory to take its 32nd straight set at home. North Dakota is 6-0 at home this season, all sweeps.

North Dakota (19-2, 4-0 Big Sky) will take to the road for its next four matches facing Portland State and Sacramento State next week on Thursday and Saturday, respectively.
