This is the second blog entry of the men's basketball team's journey into mustachedom. Junior Chris Clausen, a JUCO-transfer and Australian native, is the ring leader of the initiative and will provide written and video blogs throughout the month-long process as players, coaches and support staff grow their Mo's (slang for mustache in Australia) for a worthy cause.

Movember Blog: Volume 2, Nov. 10

The players and coaches are 10 days into Movember and the results have been mixed, but no one is giving up. As you will see in the video, a handful of players have nice Mo's coming in, while a few look like they did 10 days ago.  Senior guard Dustin Monsebroten is one of the players that is in between, but has been pleasantly surprised by what has transpired on his upper lip to this point. Here is a subjective ranking of the players' mustaches based on being able to see the growth from more than 10 feet away:

Top Five
1. Travis Mertens
2. Travis Bledsoe
3. Chris Clausen
4. Nick Haugen
5. Brandon Brekke

Bottom Five
1. Jordan Allard
2. Derek Benter
3. Mitch Wilmer
4. Josh Schuler
5. Dan Stockdale

The support staff has a nice representation. We will try to have some video of their Movember efforts in the next video blog, which should hit the site in the coming days, while the team opens its regular season at the Grizzly Basketball Tournament in Missoula, Mont. Friday night's tilt with Montana will be available on the internet at Big Sky TV.

For the entire month of 'Movember', the month formerly known as November, the Fighting Sioux men's basketball team and its coaching and support staff will be growing mustaches to help raise funds and bring awareness to prostate and testicular cancer as well as other men's health concerns. Since its inception in Australia in 2003, the 'Movember' initiative has raised more than $47 million globally. All proceeds raised in the United States will be split between the Prostate Cancer Foundation and the Lance Armstrong Foundation.
