GRAND FORKS, N.D. – University of North Dakota head soccer coach Chris Logan announced on Wednesday morning the signing of 10 recruits, all of whom will join the Fighting Hawks next season as part of the program’s 2018 recruiting class.

“On behalf of the team and the coaching staff, I would like to welcome our 2018 recruiting class into the Fighting Hawks soccer program,” said Logan, the 2017 Big Sky Conference Coach of the Year. “This group will bring talent, depth, competition and a lot of fun to an already very exciting team that we have here at UND.”

Logan engineered a four-win improvement for the Fighting Hawks in his first year at the helm, leading the team to a 6-8-4 overall record and a 4-5-1 conference mark that was the program’s best since joining the Big Sky in 2012.

Zyah Alam | Maple Grove, Minn. | Maple Grove High School
Logan says: “Zyah is an extremely gifted midfielder with fantastic technical qualities. She will complement the current midfielders of the team and give us extra qualities in that area of the field. Zyah is an outgoing person with a bubbly personality and I’m sure our fans will love watching her in action.”

Emma Bangert | Shoreview, Minn. | Mounds View High School
Logan says: “Emma is FAST! We believe Emma’s movement off the ball, her ability to get in behind defenses and her speed will make her a very dangerous player for our program. She is also a very kind, caring person who fits the personality traits that we look for in our program.”

Maddie Beams | Blaine, Minn. | Spring Lake Park High School
Logan says: “Maddie is an extremely athletic, energetic player who has a huge drive and willingness to succeed. She has many great qualities that will allow her to compete for several positions on the field. Maddie will be a wonderful addition to the program as she is a great person and teammate.”

Cassie Giddings | Ramsey, Minn. | Anoka High School
Logan says: “Cassie possesses all the natural attributes to be a successful forward at the collegiate level. She is fast, aggressive and possesses a great eye for the goal in addition to being a relentless competitor. Cassie is not only a fun player to watch, but is a wonderful person who will be a great teammate and student, too.”

Olivia Knox | Stillwater, Minn. | Stillwater Area High School
Logan says: “Olivia is a strong, fast forward who is powerful in the air and extremely aggressive. Olivia’s competitive edge will be a massive asset as the program continues to grow and she has a great winning mentality. She may need her teammates to help her with her choice in sports jerseys, but we can’t wait to have Olivia’s infectious personality and sense of humor as part of this program.”

Taylor Lange | Waconia, Minn. | Waconia High School
Logan says: “Taylor is a fun player to watch and I’m sure our fans will enjoy seeing her play. She is strong, fast and has an eye for goal, and is able to play in a multitude of positions. Taylor will be a pleasure to coach and be around, both on and off the field, and the team will love having her as a part of the program.”

Alex Lee | Lakeville, Minn. | Lakeville South High School
Logan says: “Alex is a superb defensive player. She is strong, reads the game well and is very composed on the ball. Alex will bring a fiercely competitive mentality, an extraordinary work ethic and love for the game.”

Hannah McAra | Burlington, Ontario | Corpus Christi Catholic Secondary School
Logan says: “Hannah is a superb soccer player. She possesses great technical qualities, quality movement off the ball, great game awareness and incredible stamina. She comes from one of the top clubs in Canada, so Hannah already demonstrates great pedigree, a competitive edge and, most importantly, is a great person.”

Hannah Olson | West Des Moines, Iowa | Valley High School
Logan says: “Hannah is a versatile player who we believe can play anywhere down the center of the field. Hannah’s size, strength and speed will be a valuable asset for us and she is great in the air. Soccer aside, Hannah is a kind, fun-loving person who is a joy to be around we are thrilled to have her on board.”

Meghan Wilson | Lino Lakes, Minn. | Centennial High School
Logan says: “Meghan is another player who we believe can play in a variety of positions on the field. She is very technical, quick and sees the game tactically, and has a great sense of humor. We believe Meghan can have a massive effect on the program, both on and off the field.”
