GRAND FORKS, N.D. – Officials at the University of North Dakota have announced that this coming weekend’s scheduled home games against Northern Colorado have been cancelled. It was determined that the field at Apollo Sports Complex will not be ready for play Friday for this upcoming Big Sky Conference series against the Bears as snow and ice continue to cover the field for unplayable conditions.
Earlier this season, UND moved indoors to the Alerus Center to fit in a three-game series against Montana on Mar. 30-31. After an exhaustive search, the Alerus Center-- along with other venues outside of Grand Forks-- were either unavailable to host this weekend’s games or potential weather issues did not make it feasible.
North Dakota— currently just a game out of first place in the Big Sky-- will next play at Sacramento State April 27-28 for a three-game series before a final non-conference doubleheader at South Dakota State on May 1. The regular season ends May 4-5 at Apollo Park against Idaho State.
