Nebraska City, Neb. -- Senior captain Jack McClintock sits in the top 10 after the opening 36 holes of the UNO Invitational on Friday. McClintock fired back-to-back 74's and is tied for ninth with a 148 (+6) total after his first two rounds at the ArborLinks Golf Course.
Junior Jordan Smith is only four shots of McClintock's pace after he posted back-to-back 76's. Smith led the team with seven birdies and is tied for 22nd.
The Fighting Hawks were four shots better as a team in the second round as they went 318-314 to shoot 632 (+64) and stand in sixth place with 18 holes to play. North Dakota State (580; +12) leads the six-team field and holds a seven-shot lead on Creighton (587; +19).
The final round of the 54-hole event is scheduled for Saturday morning.
