Elk Grove, Calif. -- Freshman Patrick Traynor posted the low round of the Sacramento State Intercollegaite for the Fighting Hawks on Tuesday as he wrapped up the event with a 75 (+3). Those efforts allowed him to equal teammate Jack McClintock for the low 54-hole total on the team at 240 (+24). The duo shared 57th place.
The Fighting Hawks shot a 317 (+29) in the final round, which was three strokes off their second-round score that was the best of the tournament (958; 13th).
After opening with an 82, McClintock posted a pair of 79's in his final two rounds. Sophomore Jeremy Kirk ended up at 241 (+25) after closing the tournament with an 82 (+10).
Grand Canyon won the team title with a 54-hole total of 862 (-2), bettering Cal-State Fullerton by 12 strokes (874), who closed with the best team score in the final round at 286 (-2).
The Antelopes' Billy Comeaux won medalist honors with a 212 (-4), edging teammate Vinnie Bauman and UC Santa Barbara's Brandon Bauman by a stroke.
UND has nearly a month off from competition before competing at the Red Wolves Intercollegiate April 3-4.
