UND earns 17 Academic All-WAC swimming honors

DENVER-- The University of North Dakota had 17 honorees as the Western Athletic Conference announced its 2016-17 Academic All-WAC winter teams. A total of 279 student-athletes were named to the list and 48 percent of the winter Academic All-WAC honorees also earned All-WAC recognition in the following sports: men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s indoor track and field, and men’s and women’s swimming and diving.

UND's 13 female swimmers and divers were tied for the second-most of any league school in that sport.

To be eligible, a student-athlete must have completed at least one academic year, have at least a 3.2 cumulative grade-point average and have participated in at least 50 percent of the team’s contests.

Freshmen and first-year transfers will be eligible at semester's end and will be announced at that time.
