GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- North Dakota head coach Bubba Schweigert announced the addition of Minnesota graduate transfer Everett Williams to the Fighting Hawks' football roster on Wednesday. Everett spent four seasons with the Gophers and graduated this past December with a degree in agricultural and food business management-financial analysis and business management. He was a two-time All-Big Ten Academic selection during his time in Minneapolis.

"We added a Big Ten grad transfer who we feel can have an immediate impact on our roster at inside linebacer and on special teams," Schweigert said. "Not only are we adding a promising football player, but Everett exemplified what being a student-athlete is all about at Minnesota and we're excited that he is continuing his collegiate career for us, while pursuing his master's degree here at UND."

Originally from Mansfield, Texas, Williams appeared in 24 career games, including three starts at linebacker for the Gophers over three seasons. He finished his Minnesota career with 14 tackles and two pass break-ups and was also a key special teams contributor during his tenure.

He was a Class 4A All-State performer in Texas as a senior and was named to the Star-Telegram's 2013 Football Super Team after his final prep season at Mansfield Legacy High School.
