Bubba Schweigert and All-American safety Cole Reyes will represent the Fighting Hawks at the upcoming Big Sky Football Kickoff July 16-18 in Park City, Utah. Each of the league's 13 football programs will also have their respective coach and player interviewed live on WatchBigSky.com. Reyes is scheduled to appear on the live stream at 10:09 a.m. CT on Monday morning, while Schweigert will be the first coach interviewed on Tuesday's stream starting at 10 a.m. CT.
A new addition to the programming at the Kickoff is a player development session where the 13 student-athletes in attendance will hear from former Big Sky Defensive Player of the Year and current Oakland Raider James Cowser on Sunday evening. The former Southern Utah standout will speak to the players about how his time as a Big Sky student-athlete prepared him for success on-and-off the field.
Fans can check back to UNDsports.com throughout the Kickoff for inside coverage of the proceedings in Park City. There will also be periodic Facebook Live sessions on the UND Football page along with updates on the program's Twitter and Instagram accounts.
For Schweigert, this will be his fourth trip to Park City for the annual festivities, while Reyes will be the sixth and final student-athlete UND will send to the Beehive State. The Fighting Hawks' 2017 Big Sky campaign will be their final one as the reigning league champions will transition to an Independent status for 2018 and 2019 before embarking on membership in the Missouri Valley Football Conference in 2020.
The previous student-athletes attending the Kickoff for UND include: Ross Brenneman (2012), Greg Hardin (2013), Baylee Carr (2014), Will Ratelle (2015) and Keaton Studsrud (2016).
