GRAND FORKS, N.D. -- The University of North Dakota women's hockey team will play its final home game of the season on Saturday, hosting Bemidji State at Ralph Engelstad Arena.
Why only one game? The Sioux and Beavers will face off in the second home-and-home series of the year, breaking the traditional mold to do something different and see how it works.
It will probably only be a one-year thing, UND head coach Brian Idalski said during Wednesday's media day. It's a different routine for players and travel as the team tries to maintain rhythm.
The Fighting Sioux hope to keep their rhythm going from last weekend's road trip at Ohio State. UND scored seven goals on Saturday night, as the flood gates finally opened for a team that has been so close over the past two months.
"If we had spread that out, we'd probably have five more wins in the last few weeks," Idalski joked during the press conference. "We'll take it where we can get it."
