GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota women’s hockey team received 15 points for the No. 10 spot in the first USA Today/USA Hockey Magazine Women’s College Hockey Poll of the new year.

The No. 10 ranking marks the eighth-consecutive week, and 12th overall, that the Fighting Hawks have been in the top 10.

Wisconsin and Minnesota remain the nation’s No. 1 and No. 2 teams, respectively, while fellow WCHA member Minnesota Duluth claimed the No. 5 spot.

While play resumes around the nation after winter break, North Dakota remains idle this weekend and returns to the ice on Jan. 13-14 against Minnesota State in Mankato, Minn.
