With an early history dating back to the 1920s, the University of North Dakota officially started a men's hockey program for the 1946-47 academic year. The tradition, the rivalries and the championships have grown from there.

Even in the early seasons there are names known to Fighting Sioux fans. From John Noah and Cal Marvin to today's stars of Zach Parise, Jonathan Toews and Chay Genoway, when it comes to UND men's hockey, the program speaks for itself.
