Colorado Springs, Colo. -- For the second-straight year, a quartet of North Dakota student-athletes were named All-American Strength and Conditioning Athletes of the Year recently by the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Seniors Faith Dooley (volleyball) and Quinton Hooker (men's basketball) were repeat honorees, while juniors Jake Disterhaupt (football) and Kaylin VanDomelen (softball) were honored for the first time.

The All-American Strength and Conditioning Athlete of the Year Award program recognizes those collegiate and high school athletes, whose athletic accomplishments, in the opinion of their strength coach, reflect their dedication to strength training and conditioning.

"We have a tremendous group of student-athletes here at UND and these four excel in all areas that encompass being a successful one," UND director of strength and conditioning Nate Baukol said. "They balance the countless hours of preparation to be successful in competition along with their studies and I'm proud to distinquish this quartet amongst their peers."

Dooley, Hooker and VanDomelen each collected All-Big Sky Conference honors for their efforts on the volleyball court, basketball court and softball field, respectively, this past season.

Dooley was a 2016 All-Big Sky first team and all-academic honoree, helping lead the Fighting Hawks to the league's regular season and tournament titles. Disterhaupt has not missed a game during his gridiron career (35 total) and has 99 career tackles in three seasons.
