GRAND FORKS, N.D. – The University of North Dakota men’s tennis team was defeated by South Dakota State, 5-2, on Sunday morning at Choice Health & Fitness.

The Jackrabbits started off the dual with wins in No. 2 and No. 3 doubles matches, giving SDSU the doubles point. However,  Dustin Britton and Travis Lau teamed up to win their fifth doubles match on the season.

Dustin Britton, who earned a point for North Dakota, has gone undefeated in his last five No. 1 singles matches. Today, he defeated Emerson Styles 6-3, 6-4.

North Dakota’s Ty Misialek gave the Fighting Hawks their second and final point on the day by defeating Jonny Higham 6-1, 7-5 in No. 2 singles competition. Misialek has only lost one of the last six No. 2 singles matches.

The Fighting Hawks came close in three other singles matches, but ultimately fell in three sets in the No. 3, No. 4, and No. 5 singles matches.

UND returns to action on Friday, March 31 against Big Sky Conference opponent Weber State in Ogden, Utah at 12 p.m.
