All players who are nine years of age by August 31, 2013 are eligible for enrollment. The camps are open to squirts (9-10), pee wees (11-12), bantams (13-14), midgets and high school (15-18) players. The seperate Half-Day Camp is available for ages 6-8.

The girls' camp is only available during week two (July 14-19).

NOTE: A 5 percent online registration fee applies to online registrations. When registering, please note the phrase "Registrant" refers to the camper and may require different information from initial account registration page.

All camps will feature:

• On-ice power skating instruction each day
• Daily off-ice training in The Hockey Academy
• Special position sessions
• Emphasis on small group instruction and high-level practice
• Emphasis on good sportsmanship
• Professional instruction provided at all times
  Report cards will be given out following the final Friday session, at which time, players will be dismissed.

LOCATION AND FACILITIES

The 41st Annual UND Summer Hockey School will be conducted on the beautiful University of North Dakota campus in Grand Forks. Sessions will take place in the Ralph Engelstad Arena, America’s finest hockey facility.

REQUIRED EQUIPMENT

Each participant MUST provide his/her own skates, sticks, helmet with facemask, shin pads, elbow pads, athletic supporter and cup, mouthguard and pants. Goaltenders are responsible for wearing complete equipment. A UND hockey school jersey will be given to each participant and the arena’s Sioux Shop is open daily. Skates can be sharpened and miscellaneous items can be purchased. Funds can be deposited with parental permission for participant purchases.

PERSONAL GEAR

Participants should bring complete changes of personal clothing, necessary toiletries, all bedding, pillows and blankets. Towels are provided at the arena, but are not available in the residence halls or at the pool. Participants should also bring tennis shoes, swim suit, dryland activity apparel and fan.

OTHER

Check-out is immediately following the final session on Friday morning and must be supervised by parent or guardian. Arrangements should be made in writing for campers arriving via any public transportation. Transportation to and from airport, train or bus will be provided by the UND coaching staff — arrangements must be made two weeks in advance.

TRANSPORTATION

Grand Forks, N.D., is accessible by air, rail and bus.

REGISTRATION

Registration for all sessions will be on Sunday afternoon between 3:00 and 6:00 p.m at Ralph Engelstad Arena. Players are encouraged to skate during registration. Parents are encouraged to register their child at Ralph Engelstad Arena and check into the residence halls. Dining services will begin on Monday morning for residents, so be sure to provide a Sunday night meal. Vending machines and restaurants are also available.

THE HOCKEY ACADEMY

Our Hockey Skill Center features a state-of-the-art, multi-tasking skating treadmill, synthetic ice for shooting and stickhandling drills, specialized goalie stations and a speed lane for explosive stride development. Former UND All-American and professional goaltender Karl Goehring serves as director of The Hockey Academy.

Head Coach Dave Hakstol

Now in his ninth season as the head coach at the University of North Dakota, Dave Hakstol has established himself as one of the most accomplished and well-respected bench bosses in NCAA hockey.

Through his first eight seasons as UND head coach, Hakstol has become the third-winningest coach in program history, compiling a 213-106-30 (.653) overall record and a 129-75-20 (.621) mark during Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) play.

A six-time finalist for the Spencer Penrose Award as national coach of the year, Hakstol has guided UND to five NCAA Frozen Four appearances, four WCHA Final Five playoff championships, two WCHA regular season titles and has advanced to the NCAA postseason in each of his eight years. He was named WCHA Coach of the Year in 2008-09.

For all campers, a FULL deposit is required with registration. Cancellation of application will be accepted for medical reasons only
and requires a $50.00 administration fee. Early registration is recommended as groups will be limited in size.

MEDICAL INSURANCE

Each registrant at the UND Hockey School should be covered by accident and medical insurance. Medical attention is there at all times
and excellent medical facilities are less than a mile away.

CAMPUS SUPERVISION

Check Point Program
Offers daily check-in times (Grades 9-12)
All campers entering grades 9-12 beginning Fall 2013, and who will be staying on campus will be housed in the University’s daily check-in
program. This program has four daily camper check-in times throughout the scheduled camp itinerary. The check-in is the responsibility of the camper and takes place after breakfast, lunch and either before or after dinner, and at bed check. Campers will be restricted to campus property; however, they will be able to visit all campus facilities (except the University’s summer school hall and adult conference hall) without being accompanied by a University employee.

Supervised Program (Grades 3-8)
All girls and boys entering grades 3-8 beginning Fall 2013, and who will be staying on campus will be housed in the University’s supervision program. This program offers controlled boundaries and no flexibility for on or off-campus private time for the camper. Campers are escorted to and from all scheduled activities throughout camp. In addition, campers have limited time in their residence hall room during scheduled nightly programs.
